Held annually in September in Burnsville which is about 45 minutes north of Asheville.

Diana Wortham Theatre
features national, regional and local artists, musicians, dancers and entertainers. "... If you have an interest in hospitality, arts-in-education, special events, marketing, public relations, ushering, or arts administration, we have volunteer opportunities for you." Due to the variety of entertainment featured, this could be one of the more interesting volunteer opportunities.

takes place both in May and in October and has many volunteer positions available in exchange for a weekend pass to the festival and tent camping.

Southern Dharma Retreat Center "... During the retreat season, Southern Dharma uses one or two volunteers at a time to help with the work of the retreat. On non-retreat days, the work consists of cleaning, mowing, gardening, or some other such task. The retreat fee is waived for volunteers.
