Campground Opportunities The Cradle of Forestry in America Interpretive Association (Pisgah and Nantahala National Forests) Campground Host Your primary responsibility as a host will be contributing to the efforts of the Forest Service to help provide a memorable experience for our camping visitors...." Becoming part of this team of hosts will involve you in these activities:
Hosts are provided a campsite with electricity and water hook-ups (some sites have full hook-ups). Most hosts work about twenty-four hours each week and need to plan to be in the campground across the weekends when there are a large number of visitors as well as two other days.Seasonal Interpreter (available in Davidson River Campground, North Mills River Campground, Lake Powhatan Campground, Pisgah National Forest, Cliffside Lake Campground, Nantahala National Forest, Cascade Lake Campground, Private)Responsible for planning, organizing, advertising and implementation of conservation education programs in national forest campgrounds. Programs will be geared to a wide variety of audiences including children, adults, senior adults, families with small children, and summer youth groups. The programs should cover areas of natural history interpretation, environmental education, multiple-use forestry, outdoor recreation, and other recreational activities (crafts, music, games, etc.). $1,000 to $5,500 for season depending upon location of campground and requirement of hours. |
